Room was great but the more hot water you use the less pressure in the shower and the hot tap in the sink ws broken. Coffee making facilities were for one in a double room and teabags were loose, unwrapped. Breakfasts great but this was the first place we stayed in scotland where the hosts were only prepared to do exactly what the ad says "Bed and Breakfast" the bare minimum. There is no parking with this accomodation and we had to take the proprietors parking space as the street parking is also not readily available or on a meter.

Location

Edinburgh is heritage listed and in one day there you will see why! It's similar to Paris but perhaps a little more open plan! Very friendly people - The castle is a must and the food everywhere we went was hearty and great value for money. Public transport is a breeze. The underground ghost tour was an interesting part of the history too.

Room was neat and clean. Breakfast was filling and vegetarian option available. Access to Wifi was good in rooms. Some rooms have a view of the castle.

Location

Guest house was within walking distance to the castle, and therefore good value for money.

The accommodation was very basic and cheaply furnished, the mattresses were thin. The ensuite shower/toilet room was so small, you had to sit sideways on the toilet and the door did not shut properly. There was no running hot water in the sink. The welcome was warm, but you had to order your breakfast the night before, which we did not like, as you don't know what you feel like eating until the morning. Breakfast was taken during a very narrow window between 8.30 and 9am, and as we were there for the Fringe Festival we often did not get in till after midnight, and then had two hours to kill after breakfast before events started at 11am. However they let us park free in their driveway, which was kind. The atmosphere was staid and old fashioned but friendly.

Location

The guest house is located about a mile from the Grassmarket, and it was easy to walk in and out of town.

The room was adequate, however there was no sitting room. Our hostess counted out our payment three times in front of us after we had counted it before handing it to her. It left us feeling uncomfortable that she didn't trust that we would somehow try to short her what was owed.

Location

Location was within walking distance (15 min) of the Royal Mile and city center.

Clean, well located and there is a lovely person in charge, my only criticism is the mattress on the single bed which needs to be replaced.
