very friendly & helpful owners, nice and charming house, we had a wonderful, cozy room (nr. 7) with view over edinburgh includig the castle, lot of choices for breakfast and excellent food quality
Location
20min walk to the city centre or 2 min to bus station (10 min drive), quiet area, located at the end of a dead-end-street, nice neighborhood

We thought the decor was beautiful and the breakfast on offer excellent. We liked the attention to detail throughout, including the little extras in the room and in the breakfast room.It was also quiet and the hosts very friendly. We felt that the check-out time was a little early for a weekend, if it wasn't for this we would have rated it outstanding.
Location
A beautiful city, great cafes, restaurants and shopping, all reasonably priced. Loved the music pubs and Arthurs seat. well worth a visit.

The room was roomy and the en-suite facilities quite good. Breakfasts served were excellent. Our only complaint was that the room on up two flights of long stairs, rather hard on our older knees! (An initial complaint about the lack of good WiFi connection was quickly attended to by the owners.)
Location
Location is superb - close to public transportation. The owners' assistance in booking tours was quick and well appreciated.

It is a pleasure for me to review the Albyn. We were guests at the B&B for three nights and wished we could have spent more time in both Edinburgh and the Albyn. The front door is surrounded by wonderful flowers and a warm welcome was extended to us by Lydie,a co-owner. Lydie gave us some helpful instructions and we headed off on foot to a lovely area called Bruntsfield, where several buses are available to take you to the heart of E.The Albyn breakfasts were delicious and there is a nice selection besides the traditional Scottish breakfast. We both enjoyed the omellettes and I loved the vanilla pancakes. My husband commented on the delicious coffee and I must comment on the warm and friendly servers. The hotel is clean and comfortable . I especially lked the eclectic decor and am looking for a brass lamp like the one in the dining room for my home. David was also very helpful and pleasant.
It is without hesitation that I recommend the Albyn Townhouse in Edinburgh.
Location
The highlight was the Taste of Scotland show at historic Prestonfield. I found an ad for this entertainment in the foyer and David helped us with a reservation. You must taxi there and the cost each way was about 8 pounds.Bruntsfield has many lovely restaurants and coffee shops. We dined at the Montpellier and the food and service were both excellent. We picked up delicious pizza after a long day in St.Andrews.Proximity to the Meadows Park made for a couple of enjoyable walks.Bruntsfield has many interesting shops but I ran out of time and only visited a few.I wish I had had more time to explore the area around the Albyn but time did not allow it.

A wonderful welcome. Our hosts and their staff did everything in their power to fullfill our needs and requirements and it felt more like staying with our favourite friends or family than staying in a B 'n B. I would have given it an outstanding, but for the breakfast, which I found slightly dissapointing.
Location
The location for us was perfect. Easily walkable to most places within the city and good local restaurants without ever having to take the car out. A definite benefit!
