Everything about our accommodation was wonderful from the time we were made extremely welcome by Cath who went the extra mile to make our stay in Edinburgh a happy occasion. Her manner and helpfulness was great and really appreciative, knowing when to stay and have a chat about the local buses and tourist attractions without being overpowering. Our bedroom was very comfortable and as with the whole house spotlessly clean, Cath's breakfasts were second to none and set us up for the whole day, wonderful.

We expected high prices for Edinburgh, but this was not the case. Great value for money. We stayed for two nights. The room was stayed in was at the front of the house, and although traffic was noisy, the room more than compensated. Big, bright and airy, and the most amazing comfortable bed. Plenty of fresh clean towels. Breakfast really set us up for the day. As much tea, coffee, and toast as you wanted, and the cooked breakfast was lovely and hot. Our host Cath, is a lovely lady. She made us feel like we were family. Alba House is a credit to her.

We were in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Tattoo. So there was lots going on in the High Street itself. We took an open top bus tour around the city which at 13pp was good value for money. Bella Italia was very busy, but the food was excellent, and well worth the waiting for a table.

Cath is a wonderful - 'bonny' host. The B&B is at 2 min walk from the busstop. If you get a taxi you pay around 8 pounds. Breakfast is worth waking up for although the beds are of excellent quality!

Our stay was made all the better by Cath who runs it, she is so warm and welcoming and her husband cooks a great breakfast. Although the room was a little tired round the edges it was spotless as was the linen. A++++ If we visit Edinburgh again we will be stopping at the Alba.

We were in Edinburgh for a wedding, so did not do much site seeing. But there is a lot to see and do.
