Everything about our stay was excellent except the size of the room we were in....the small double room on the lower floor, while probably relatively comfortable for a young couple travelling with backpacks, was just too small for us...middle-aged and with more 'stuff' than there was room for!
Location
The Location was great...Kelvingrove Park, the Museum and Glasgow University easily occupied a full day of exploration. There was lots of information available on other things to do in Glasgow. We particularly enjoyed a guided tour into the highlands with the Doodle Bus Company. It took a while to figure out public transportation but once we did, the connections were good. Our hosts were most gracious and helpful!

The room was fantastic. The place is gorgeous. We were met by Christine who was a joy, extremely friendly and very helpful. What a star! The owners Steve and Emma were fantastic and I would recommend a visit to this elegant sumptuous place. If your planning a trip to Glasgow this is the place to stay!
The value for money was incredible. Our room was excellent, the service was impeccable and the grub was great! Nothing was too much trouble in order to make our stay even more special. Thank you all so very much. I wish these delightful people every success in the future.

Theythought of everything: good lights next to the bed, available outlets, a place to rest your articles in the bathroom, extra drying rack standing off from the room heater, adjustable heating in room plus windows that open, no harsh chemicals, just fresh-smelling, aired-out room. Host and hostess most gracious and AVAILABLE always. Extra WC's with available large Jacuzzi. Plentiful breakfast. Fairly priced. You couldn't have asked for more.

The Alamo was a wonderful stay for us in Glasgow. Our room was very nice and clean. It was on the lower level so did not have a great view, but we were out and about most of the time anyway.
Steve and Emma were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was very good and they are quite accomodating.
Location
The Alamo was a nice location to a trip to the Highlands, a great distillary that was recommended by Steve, and was very close to several wonderful restaurants that we enjoys immensely.

Our room was very cosy and comfortable, I had a wonderful few nights sleep indeed. The guest house itself is a beautiful building; well furnished and lit, and home to a very friendly cat! Breakfast is buffet style and so as small or large as you would want. The free dvd-rental is a very nice feature which we took advantage of also. On the whole, this guest house offers great value for money and I would definitely stay here again.
Location
Firstly, Glasgow's transport system is excellent; you're never far away from a bus/train/subway station, and if in doubt don't hesitate to ask someone for directions- everyone is very friendly and helpful. The Alamo is ideally situated for visitors to the University, the journey being about 10-15 minutes walk. There are a number of museums/galleries nearby also; notably the Kelvingrove Museum and gallery (5 mins) and the Hunterian Museum (15 mins)
There are also enough decent shops, pubs and restaurants in the Hillhead area such that you wouldn't need to venture into the city centre, but if you wanted to(and I recommend it) the walk is only 30-35 mins/10 mins subway. I almost forgot....Glasgow is a beautiful city! Especially the guest house's surrounding area which is very green. One piece of advice when on a walk...look up-the buildings are fantastic.
