We were made to feel very welcome in this lovely house and were given a superior room to the one we'd booked because of on-going re-decorating, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good and well prepared, although a bit more variety would've added to the enjoyment. I'd recommend the Alamo highly.

Location

The location adjacent to Kelvingrove Park is excellent for visiting the park itself, the Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow University, the Botanical Gardens and the many restaurants and cafes in the west end of Glasgow. It's also easy to get into the city centre by bus for shopping and to take a guided tour of the Art College designed by Rennie Mackintosh, which was one of the highlights of our vist. I'd also recommend taking a trip out to the Burrell Collection and Pollok House which are both situated in Pollok Country Park , 3 miles from the city centre. The Burrell has some stunning objects and the interior of Pollok House is absolutely beautiful.

Had 3 nights here recently, the Alamo is very nice, decor in rooms very nice and furnishings all fit in with victorian building. Just one little gripe about breakfast on the first morning the bacon and sausages were rather burnt. The next two mornings were ok but could have done with either some beans or tomotoes. The owners Emma and Steve lovely people and very helpful.

This was a very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price, especially at this time of year. The rooms were decorated to a high spec and very clean. Many of the rooms are not en-suite though, which some may find off-putting. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety to suit all tastes and best of all, it was quiet, quiet, quiet! Not only is the Alamo situated down a side road but it faces tennis courts,so it is very peaceful.

Location

A great place to stay, especially if you are interested in the art galleries and museums at that end of town.

The room was clean and bathroom modern. The owners are so kind and helpful. Location is great for restaurants and the museaum. Surroundings peaceful, doesn't feel like you are in the big city.
