The room was clean, staff very helpful, and the location of the establishment is perfect.

Location

I lived in Edinburgh before, so I knew the city. The fact that I like it very much made me decide to visit it again.

The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The breakfast room was spacious, with fresh flowers on the tables. The living room, complete with the piano, the huge palm / fern and email facility was formal, yet welcoming. We were impressed that guests were invited to donate small change - or even bank notes to a local charity. The staff were extremely helpful in helping us with any questions about the tourist facilities. They went out of their way to be sure that we had all the information that we needed. We were very grateful for that. They lent us umbrellas on the only morning that it rained, and allowed us to leave our luggage until later in the afternoon.

Location

The location was close enough to be able to walk to the Princes Street area, the art gallery and Charlotte Square. Those walks were more than five minutes, but were pleasant and interesting. We went to the theatre nearby - about four minutes walk back afterwards. Word of Warning - Do not stand on the edge of the footpath when it has rained. The vehicles, especially the buses will splash you from head to foot.

Excellent bed&breakfast guesthouse in classic style. Worth your money. Rooms and hosts like a fairytale. You should like climbing stairs and accept the oldfashioned charme of the bathrooms. But there is all you really need. We loved and enjoyed our stay.

Location

Very close to Calton Hill, idyllic place and view over Edinburgh from Arthur's size to the North Sea. 5 minutes walk to the bus stops of London Road or Leith Walk, 15 minutes to Waverly station if you walk, 5 minutes if you catch one of the frequent buses. The Royal Terrace is a very quiet and noble address. Next to cinemas, Playhouse (theatre and musicals), restaurants, St.James Mall.
