Very warm and friendly welcome and attention. Beautifull house,immaculately clean and lovely period furniture. High standard of service and beautifully cooked breakfast. My wife and I intand to return here when ever we are in Edinburgh.

Incredible value for money. Fantastic grand house in a great setting on the cobbled street below Carlton Hill and with a view of the sea. Within very easy walking distance of Edinburgh centre. Totally free on-street parking from 5.30pm Friday through the weekend a fantastic bonus ( my relatives paid £30 to park in Edinburgh for the same weekend).
Immaculately clean and well kept. The huge rooms/high ceilings were (to my amazement)comfortably warm.
Breakfast was simple but really well presented/nicely cooked etc choice of yoghurt,fruit,cereals too. The fact that you are eating it in a splendid dining room with faultless service by the proprietors made it special.
Quiet, calm atmosphere.
Use of huge lounge with comfy sofas, big flat screen TV, wifi laptop, ironing facilities.
Can't fault it/ we paid £60 per night for our groundfloor room. We will return!
Location
Very easy walking distance of everything we needed to get to in the centre of Edinburgh that weekend.

Our stay in Adria House was excellent from the warm friendly welcome, the spacious, well-furnished room, to the excellent breakfast served by the friendly mine host. It our intention to use this accommodation whenever we visit Edinburgh

Adria House was stunning, outstanding. Our room was elegant, beautiful, warm and welcoming. It is the only ground floor room, which was good for us as we are partially disabled. The view from our window was of the well kept rear garden. It is a Georgian, 1820's built house with many fine original features. The lounge and dining room were beautifully decorated and furnished. The full Scottish breakfast was hot and plentiful with lots of choices. The owners live and work in Adria House and share their lovely home with us, their guests. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Location
Adria House is about fifteen minutes walk to Princess Street and on the way you pass many eateries and pubs. Calton Hill is to the left just before the Church. We particularly wanted to visit Edinburgh at this time of year as it is the start of the Christmas Lights and the Fair that starts at the entrance to the Park through to the Art Galleries. It all looks quite magical as most of the trees are decorated in blue lights. The Fair is there untill January 2012. There are many Log Cabins/Stalls that sell food from around the World, Hot Rum Punch, Xmas Decorations, Candles, Fur Hats etc; Ice skating, Water activities, Merry go Round. And, of course, the Castle.

Can't fault the accommodation - fantastic building and immaculately clean. Warm welcome too from the host.
Would prefer more of a choice for a continental breakfast - maybe a fresh fruit salad and croissants/danish pastries, as I don't eat a full english!
Location
The location is excellent - not too far a walk into the city centre, but far enough out for it to be nice and quiet. Lots of good restaurants nearby too.
