Charlie at front desk was so helpful. Only problem we had was we booked the Executive Room and it did not appear on our reservation. We had to take a double the first night and move the next day after I looked it up on my laptop.
Location
Liked that it was on the edge of city and could go to the locals restaurants. 20 minute walk to city center

The Room standard was excellent. I had a room on the top floor and it was a lovely sunny room. It was three floors up and no lift, I found it not problem but if i was any older or had bad arthritis it may cause a problem. I thought the breakfast was only ok. The service was slow with very few staff.
Location
The location of the hotel is pretty good for getting to the city centre and Train/Bus stations ect.
I did a city bus tour and that was very good and great value The Musems and Concert Hall and Churches were worth the visit.
I also had a day trip to Edinburgh which I really loved.
Taxi are good value and they are easy to pick up.

The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful. I could open my window for air.
The blind worked. Wi-fi was fine. It was very clean and quiet. Kettle, tea, and milk were there, and were replentished. . The person who seemed to be in charge was always helpful and friendly. She made sure I had an early cab to take me to the railway sation. Wide choice of breakfast items. I paid more than I wanted to, but it was worth what I was charged. It was one of the best places I've stayed. When I went into my room I said, "Oh, this must be what they call a boutique hotel."
Location
Very convenient for walking. I walked everywhere, or sometimes took a bus.

Beds were comfortable and the room was warm once we had asked for the heating to be put on. The food was well cooked and presented by Val.General cleanliness was good and we have asked for a room on the ground floor which was supplied. Good location for shopping, eating and access to stations.
Location
As above. But we also went to City halls which is lovely inside. We also liked Princes Square. The only downside was that we had a 13year old with us and it was difficult to find somewhere suitable to eat in the evening. Also,it would have been good to be able to get a good Sunday lunch.Loved the athmosphere as it was nearing Christmas so there were pipes and drums and carol singing. We had a bad experience in an indian restaurant close to our hotel. We went along on Saturday evening and got a table for 4. We we given a menu which was for a three course christmas meal. When I asked if we had to have this menu I was told that was the current menu to christmas. We went ahead and ordered. The 1st course was good but the other 2 courses were dreadful, particularly the korma. The supposed chocolate fudge cake for sweet was nothing more than cheap gateux. We then realised that other local people coming in to eat were just able to order one course. We challenged the manager about this ,he was reluctant to own up to the fact that we had not been informed on entry about the christmas menu or that others had a choice of one item from the menu and not three course. We got a reduction in the bill mainly for the quality of the Korma but it really spoiled our special weekend in My fathers birthplace of Glasgow.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and looked to be newly renovated. Room excellent. The staff member we saw was very welcoming, helpful and unflappable serving a delicious breakfast (by himself) to all in the hotel when another staff member failed to turn up.
Would have been outstanding but the ensuite was a little small and there was no lift. Lucky we were fit enough to get our smallish bags up 3 flights of stairs.
