Aberdeen has some beautiful parks and an excellent beach with a large promenade area offering amusement park, multiplex cinema, bowling alley and a large variety of restaurants and ice cream parlours. In the city centre there are excellent shopping arcades and again a wide range of restaurants. Granville is situated on the main route west to Royal Deeside where a variety of historic castles owned by the national trust can be visited. Further North you can follow Scotland's whisky trail and visit numerous distilleries.
