The original hotel built on this site dates back from 1740, when the building was originally a drover's inn, a stop over point for farmers taking their cattle to and from market.
Historically the hotel features as being the meeting place for Johnson and Boswell, when they charted their journey to the Hebrides, and was also a favourite haunt for Charlie Chaplin in the 1930's.
Our location is perfect for your Scottish holiday and has made us popular with guests worldwide as the ideal base to explore the Highlands and Islands. Prices from: £50 per person/night
