Aberfoyle has a bank, post office, garage, several churches and a tourist information centre. The shops include 2 butchers, one with a deli, and a co-operative store. There is an excellent ice cream shop and several gift shops including a large garden centre. There are a variey of restaurants, cafes and pubs in the area, including the Lake Hotel at Port of Mentieth with its dining room on the lake shore with mountain backdrop.
The David Marshall Lodge is the main visitor centre for the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, located just a mile out of Aberfoyle on the Dukes Pass road. The Centre is the hub for many outdoor activities including the largest "Go Ape" facility in Britain.
The Trossachs boasts a countryside of beautiful Lochs and Mountains. There are several circular motoring routes with a variey of excellent restaurants and cafes along the way. There is sailing on many of the lochs with passenger steamers on local Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond. There are fishing and sailing facilities on nearby Lake of Menteith, Loch Ard, Loch Venacher and Loch Lomond - with canoeing also available on some waterways.
