Located in Stromness in the heart of the Orkney Islands, our two historic cottages were built on the harbour in the 1800s, about 30 metres from one another. Positioned right on the waterfront with a 180 degree view of the vessels entering the harbour, not many cottages have their own private pier and steps down to the sea as well as a superb view over the sea and islands. Prices from: £330 per week
36 Alfred Street sleeps 1 - 2 persons with a single bedroom and is built in the customary Stromness style of the 1800s with very close off-street parking. 40 Alfred Street sleeps 2 adults and 2 children in two bedrooms and is built out of stone with its own private parking. Both properties have white percale linen and towels, a hairdryer, large flat screened TVs, a library of over 300 books and a study with desk.

Amenities and facilities in each cottage include: luxurious new furniture, central heating and character coal fireplace, a modern kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge and freezer. The fully equipped kitchens have all utensils and a supply of tea, coffee and sugar.
Private pier and steps down to the small pebble beach in low tide. Both cottages are serviced weekly and Pets are accepted by arrangement. Short breaks are welcome by prior arrangement.

The cottages are in walking distance to all the points of interest in Stromness including the popular Stromness Museum which is located just metres away.
Orkney has the highest concentration of ancient human heritge sites in Britain, including the neolithic settlement of Scara Brae which is over 5,000 years old and a World Heritage Site.
