Situated in the Southside of Edinburgh,
our guest house is within a traditional Victorian house dating from 1887, which combines the building's original features and character with modern comforts. The Mayfield Lodge is between the University of Edinburgh's George Square Campus and the Kings Buildings Campus, and not far from the new National Libarary of Scotland in Causewayside. We offer doubles, twins, single and family rooms. All rooms are en suite and equipped with TV, hairdryer and generous hospitality tray.
As both your hosts are professional Chefs, we can provide a superb breakfast, cooked to order with a selection of freshly squeezed juices. Vegetarian and Vegan breakfasts, as well as packed lunches and evening meals, can be provided on request. Special dietary requirements can be arranged with prior notice.

We are approximately one mile from the city centre and the Number 42 Bus stops just opposite Mayfield Lodge, taking you within 10 minutes into the very heart of Edinburgh. You will pass the antique shops in Causewayside, then George Square and the various bars and restaurants by the university. After the Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street, you will pass over the Royal Mile (which links Edinburgh Castle with Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament) and down to the main shopping thoroughfare of Princes Street.
