Gladstone House is a beautiful Victorian guest house built in 1889 and named after the Prime Minister William Gladstone. It is situated a few minutes walk from Holyrood park and the panoramic views across the Edinburgh skyline from Arthur's Seat. The busy centre of the city is only a 5 minute bus journey away where guests can enjoy the internationally renowned attractions of Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street Gardens and The Royal Mile. Gladstone House's 7 bedrooms have retained much of their Victorian splendour while providing the conveniences of modern living. Each tastefully decorated room has colour television, clock radio, central heating, hair drier and hospitality tray. Five of our bedrooms have en suite facilities and the remaining 2 have the use of a bathroom.

In our bright and airy dining room guests can start their day with a selection of cereals, yogurts and fresh fruit salad. Following this we offer a traditional home cooked Scottish breakfast or, should you prefer, a continental breakfast of cheeses and meats from across Europe.
Parking in Edinburgh is hard to come by, so we are fortunate that we can offer guests private parking facilities for those wishing to leave their car while visiting the busy city centre.
For those guests here on business, Gladstone House is only a few minutes from Edinburgh University 's major academic departments and a short distance from the Pollock Halls of Residence. Also close by are the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Scottish Widows Offices and other major financial companies. For guests wanting a more energetic stay, the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool is close by and offers an Olympic sized pool, sauna and fitness training equipment. For guests wanting to exercise in the open, then the close by Holyrood park is ideal for running, walking and gentle hill climbing.
